POKOTABI / Kobe beef Daia
和牛ステーキ 神戸牛ダイア 鉄板焼き 雷門西店 |WAGYU STEAK KOBE BEEF DAIA TEPPAN-YAKI KAMINARIMON WEST BRANCH
A closer look at Kobe beef Daia Teppanyaki Kaminarimon Nishi in Asakusa, from sirloin and lean steaks seared on the iron griddle to beef sushi, tataki, and an intimate Japanese interior.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
Steam curls up from the polished iron teppan as a chef carefully draws a knife through seared beef. Situated near the Kaminarimon gate in Asakusa, Kobe beef Daia Teppanyaki Kaminarimon Nishi serves Kobe beef prepared on the griddle right before your eyes, offering a relaxed culinary encounter for all five senses.
The steak offerings encompass a broad spectrum of cuts. Options include Kobe beef premium lean, prized for its delicate aroma and subtle natural sweetness, specially selected rare cuts with gently melting marbling, and classic sirloin with a well-balanced grain. Guests can also choose from prized center cuts such as tenderloin, chateaubriand—yielded in only small amounts from each head of cattle—and the Emperor Briand, carved exclusively from the heart of the chateaubriand. Seasoned simply with rock salt or freshly grated wasabi, each freshly grilled cut allows the natural richness and clean, sweet beef fats to emerge clearly.
The restaurant's appeal extends beyond griddle steaks to an array of other beef preparations. Assortments of Kobe beef steak sushi bring together lean cuts, medium-fatty chutoro, rich otoro, and prime loin atop fluffy vinegared rice. Lightly seared beef sashimi and yukhoe provide refined, small-plate options with pleasant roasted aromatics. For a complete meal, diners can opt for set menus or multi-course spreads that feature seasonal grilled vegetables, Kobe beef appetizers, Hyogo-grown Tamba Koshihikari rice, and daily soups.
The drinks list is varied, spanning draft beer and highballs alongside Japanese red and white wines, sake, and shochu. Counter seating offers an engaging view of the teppanyaki preparation unfold right in front of you. With private dining rooms also available alongside tables, the calm, traditional-leaning space accommodates casual daytime lunches between sightseeing stops as well as quiet, celebratory evening dinners.
